Dear Readers of the JCTR Bulletin:

We begin by apologizing to you our valuable readers for our failure to publish the third quarter of the Bulletin on time due to factors beyond our control. We hope you are going to enjoy a wide range of articles that we have published in this issue. We have dedicated the first section of this issue of the Bulletin to articles that treat the theme of the Jubilee in one way or another.

As we draw close to the beginning of the new millennium and the celebration of the Jubilee we cannot but allow our hearts to be enkindled with hope - hope of a new start, a fresh beginning. We are reminded by Bishop James Corboy, S.J., in his article in this issue, "The Year of the Father," that the idea of a new start does not refer only to social and material renaissance but also to spiritual renewal. The Jubilee is a call for all believers to open their hearts to God, the Creator, and come to know Him more. For us Christians, we are invited to celebrate the Jubilee in a Christian manner by recalling the birth of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago.Complete letter
